Born into a family of professional artists, Krista Hale’s creative imagination, and subsequent rise to a stellar career, understandably started at a very early age.  A multiple sports athlete in high school, Krista decided to focus on dance in college.  Her natural athletic abilities and strong work ethic led her to being accepted into the prestigious dance program at UC Irvine, where she earned a BA Degree in Dance with a minor in Drama.  She was chosen to participate in the UCI New York Theater Program where she studied with Nicole Fosse (ballet), Susan Stroman (tap), Bob Rizzo (jazz), Uta Hagen (acting), and Helen Gallager (voice).  Since then, she has continually performed in shows regionally, nationally, and internationally.

She began her professional career performing in the Disneyland Parades for 2 years.  She followed that with the role of Velma in the international tour of West Side Story that entertained throughout Spain, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein.  She then contracted with the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines for 2 years, where she danced, choreographed, and worked as a magician’s assistant on board the Nordic Empress and the Majesty of the Seas.

While stateside, Krista performed as a world renowned Rockette in their Radio City Christmas Spectacular.  In addition, Krista performed in many regional musicals, such as Gigi (Liane), 42nd Street (Gladys), Damn Yankees (Lola), and Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Panacea). Her regional and national performances have allowed her to work closely with such Broadway and television stars as Stephanie J. Block, Nia Peeples, Cathy Rigby, and Eric Kunze.

While Krista has been teaching and choreographing children and adults ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theater and contemporary for 30 years, she has had the unique privilege and opportunity to continue performing professionally, thus keeping her choreography fresh and relevant.  Along with dancing for the Patricia Rincon Dance Collective and soloing with the Anaheim Ballet Company’s Nutcracker, she has performed worldwide with Imagination Entertainment’s Andrew Lloyd Webber Review, On Broadway Show, USO Tribute, and Cirque Nouveau show along side world famous circus performers.   She has performed throughout the United States, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Malaysia, and Canada, in front of thousands of people, as a dancer/singer/actress.  Her vast experience and award winning choreography has brought her many opportunities and requests for judging (Spotlight), instructing (Concordia University), exhibiting (Disneyland), Master Classes and developing/teaching choreography for various community programs.  Most recently she was excited to have the challenge of choreographing “Into the Woods” and “Kiss Me Kate” for Pacific Ridge High School.

Krista is thrilled to be in her 17th year teaching at Dance Unlimited and feels so blessed to have such an amazing and supportive studio to hatch her crazy creative ideas.  Krista lives in Fallbrook with her wonderfully talented and amazing husband Kim Neblett.
