Competition Team Auditions

If you are interested in being a part of our 2018-2019 Teams, contact the office with any questions office@danceunlimitedoceanside.com.

  • Selected through audition process
  • Take technique training in all styles required
  • Dancers 9 & up train average of 12+ hours per week 
  • 4 to 5 local competitions and 1 national competition
  • 1 Convention
  • Attend 2-3 optional Master Classes
  • Do Annual Revue

Below are some videos from previous award winning seasons.

Petites (8 and Under) : These are beginner level competition students Required: Two hours of ballet technique and Two hours of Jazz Technique per week.  

 

 

Junior I (Novis) and Junior II (9-11):
Dancers who have been studying for between 2 and 4 years, who take at least 3 ballet and jazz technique classes a week and are on a competition team. Intermediate level should have previous competition experience.

 

 

Teen I and Teen II (12-14): These are seasoned level, advanced dancers. Suggested guidelines: This level should have 5 or more years of dance training, take at least 3 ballet and jazz technique classes plus tap technique a week. 

 

Senior (15+): These are advanced level dancers similar to Teen I and II, but are elite competitors should have years of competition experience. Requirement is the same as Teen. 

 

Duos: Performance that utilizes 2 dancers in incorporating any style of dance or combination of dance styles. 

 

 

Solos: Performance that spotlights 1 dancer in incorporating any style of dance or combination of dance styles.


Lines: 
Performance that utilize at least 15 dancers incorporating any style of dance or combination of dance styles. 

Production: A one hour class of dancers that vary in age from 4-21. Must be a member of another same-style team to participate. All dancers are required. 

 

*Small companies must belong to a large competition group
